Websites, bookings, Microsoft 365, Wi‑Fi and security cameras, for small
businesses in Lewes and across East Sussex. Plain English, and a written price before
anything starts. Your prices, opening hours, holidays and menu are yours
to change whenever you like, in screens built for your business, and I
look after whatever you would rather not.
For shops, takeaways and sole traders who need the whole thing to work,
not just a website. None of this needs me in the room, so it does not
matter where you are.
WebsiteBuilt or rebuilt, quick to load, kept up to date.
Screens you can drive yourselfChange your prices, opening hours, holidays and menu whenever you like. No waiting on me, and no charge for it.
Always answersA spare copy on Cloudflare takes over while the main server is busy or being updated, so customers just see your site.
Hosting, domain and emailWith nightly backups kept off the machine they came from.
Found on GoogleThe technical side done properly and your Google listing set up. No promises about page one.
BookingAppointments customers make themselves, straight into your calendar.
For businesses with a few staff, a cupboard of equipment and nobody
obvious to ask. Lewes, Brighton, Eastbourne and the towns between,
because most of this wants somebody on site.
Backups that get testedRecovery rehearsed rather than assumed.
Microsoft 365 and Entra hardeningMFA, conditional access and sane defaults, without locking staff out.
Email nobody can fakeSPF, DKIM and DMARC set so no one can send as you.
Staff phishing trainingShort, realistic and repeated, so the click that matters never happens.
Passwords nobody has to rememberOne place for the whole team, so the same password is not on a sticky note and three laptops. The cheapest hour you will spend on security.
Cyber Essentials readinessThe UK government-backed baseline that more contracts now ask for.
The same four steps whether it is a new website or a laptop that will not start.
1
You tell me what you needIn your own words: what you have, and what is going wrong or missing. A photo of an error saves a paragraph.
2
I look, then price it in writingSite visit and scoping included, at no charge. You get the price in writing before any work starts.
3
I build it, or fix itTo a date we agree. If that date moves you hear it from me first.
4
Then I look after it, if you want thatBackups, monitoring and updates, and a status page anyone can check.
What it costs
Guides, not quotes. Every job gets a fixed written price before any
work starts, and the look that produces it costs nothing.
A website
Get online from £650
Up to five pages, works properly on a phone, a contact form, your own domain and email, and your Google listing set up.
Working site from £1,100
The above, plus one thing that does a job: online booking, a menu you change yourself, or quotes and invoices.
Rescue from £350
You already have a site and it is slow, broken or insecure. Fixed rather than replaced.
Looking after it
Essentials £25 a month
Hosting, domain, backups, updates, monitoring, your page on the public status board, and small text and photo changes.
Plus £45 a month
Essentials, an hour of changes a month, and you go first when something breaks.
No minimum term, thirty days' notice, and the domain stays in your name.
The IT side
Microsoft 365 from £350
Set up or moved across, up to five mailboxes, with nothing lost on the way.
Security hardening from £300
MFA, conditional access, and email nobody else can send as you.
Wi‑Fi from £250
Surveyed and fixed, reaching the whole building, with guests kept away from the till.
Security cameras and door entry from £75 a camera
Specified, installed and locked down properly.
Come and look at it £60
One visit to find out what is actually wrong. Taken off the bill if you then go ahead with the work.
Hardware is passed on at cost, because I would rather advise you than
sell you a box. If your job does not look like anything on this list,
describe it
and I will price it. Changing your own prices, opening hours and menu
costs nothing, because you do it. There are
answers to the usual questions further down.
Work I look after
Both sites below are mine to look after, and both are checked every
minute. The bars are the last forty checks, live from
the public status page.
Korean-Japanese fusion fish and chips. Hosted, backed up and
monitored. If the origin server drops, a nightly static copy serves
the menu from Cloudflare instead, because a takeaway going dark at
seven on a Friday reads as "this business has closed".
Bespoke alterations, bridal and textile restoration. Website,
appointment booking and invoicing, all joined up, so an enquiry
becomes an appointment and then an invoice without three separate
systems and a spreadsheet.
Who you would be dealing with
Me, directly. I work in infrastructure and cyber security and take
this on alongside it, which means I am picky about what I say yes to,
and you are never handed to an account manager.
Background
Ten years in infrastructure and security, at group level throughout.
Previously
Ran cyber security for a university group: 650 staff, 9,000 students.
Now
Rebuilding a 16-site estate across eleven countries.
Qualified
BSc Computer Forensics. Microsoft Azure Administrator.
The full record is on my CV.
The working notes, how things are actually built and what broke on
the way, are in Field Notes.
Questions people ask first
Short answers. If yours is not here,
ask it
and I will answer it properly.
What is this going to cost?
There are guide prices above, and every job gets a fixed price in writing before any work starts. Working out what you need costs nothing. If it needs a visit to find out, that is £60, and it comes off the bill if you go ahead.
Will you charge me every time I need a price changed?
No, because you will not need me. Prices, opening hours, holiday dates and menu items are yours to change in a screen built for your business, worded the way you say it rather than the way the software does. If you would rather I did it, that is included in looking after the site.
Do I own the website when it is done?
Yes. The domain is registered in your name, not mine, and the site and everything in it are yours. There is no minimum term on looking after it and thirty days’ notice either way.
Could I move it to someone else later?
Yes, and you would not have to rebuild it. Sites are built on WordPress or plain files on ordinary hosting, so another person can pick it up. Nothing is locked to a platform only I can work in, and I will hand over the logins without a fuss.
How quickly will you get back to me?
Within two working days, usually sooner. Every enquiry gets an acknowledgement straight away so you know it arrived, and support requests are tracked from the moment they land rather than sitting in an inbox.
Do you only work with businesses in Lewes?
No. Anything that lives on a screen, a website, booking, invoicing, Microsoft 365 or a domain, I can do wherever you are, and I already look after sites for people I see twice a year. The hands-on work is Lewes, Brighton, Eastbourne and the towns between, because Wi‑Fi, cameras, firewalls and an office move all want somebody actually standing in the building.
Is this your full-time job?
No. I work in infrastructure and cyber security, and take this on alongside it. That is why I am picky about what I say yes to, and why calls are evenings and Saturday mornings. It also means you are never handed to an account manager.
What happens when you are on holiday?
You are told before it happens, on the site and in the reply you get. The monitoring carries on regardless, so if anything needs attention while I am away I still find out. Anything that cannot wait, say so and I will tell you honestly whether it can.
Do you work on WordPress?
Yes, including sites somebody else built and then disappeared. If yours is on a builder like Wix or Squarespace, I will tell you honestly whether moving it is worth the trouble, and I will not move it just to be the one looking after it.
Can you get me to the top of Google?
No, and anyone who promises that is guessing. What I can do is the technical side properly, get your Google listing set up, and make sure the site says clearly what you do and where you do it. That is what actually moves local searches.
Get in touch
Tell me what you have and what is going wrong with it. If I can help, I
will say so and quote you. If I cannot, I will say that too, and point
you at someone who can.
I reply within two working days, usually sooner.
Asking costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
A written price before any work starts, site visits and scoping included. Never an hourly meter.
